Daegu
Culture and Arts Center is located in Duryu Park,
overlooking Sungdang pond. Since May 1990, the culture
center has been developed through the efforts of the
local government. The center not only holds exhibitions
but also various performances which are feature music,
dance, Korean classical music, opera, drama etc. Thanks
to the approximately 300 performances a year and the
beautiful building which resembles a traditional peaked
hat called gat, the Daegu Culture and Arts Center
is one of the hottest places for residents in Daegu
to visit. |
The
Daegu Culture and Arts Center consists of five big buildings:
Main Theater Building, Exhibition Building, Open Air Theater,
Daegu Field Concert Hall and Rehearsal Building for the
City Art Group. Needless to say, every building has its
own beauty but the Main Theater Building is especially unique.
The building is equipped with good sound facilities and
the latest lighting. The shape of the building is like the
Korean traditional peaked hat which was usually worn by
noblemen, those in the upper class of the Chosun period.
Every
month there are lots of performances featuring artists in
various fields. If you need more information about the center
or the schedule of performances, visit the website: http://artcenter.daegu.go.kr.
On the website, not only can you get information about the
performances, but also a chance to appreciate a cyber exhibition,
photo album, live internet arts and culture concert.
