A walk to Remeber

Winter in Korea must be cold, but I hope your mind will not be cold like the weather. I hope this book, A Walk to Remember, can help to make your mind warm. The author, Nicholas Sparks, has also written The Notebook, and The Wedding among others. His novels tend to pull heartstrings. This novel was adapted for the screen, but in my opinion, reading this book can make you fall into the story more deeply.

The story line is simple. There was a time when the world was sweeter¡¦ when the women in Beaufort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats¡¦Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers 1958, his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he'd fallen for Jaime, the shy, almost ethereal daughter of the town's Baptist minister¡¦ Jaime was destined to show him the depths of the human heart-and the joy and pain of living. Landon and Jaime can't take their minds off each other. They were falling in love-a tragic, bitter, sweet, and spiritual thing. Sadly, his angel had leukemia-a kind of blood disease, which is why she told him "Don't love me"when she went to the homecoming dance party as his date. He cannot help crying to the Lord for help when he knew his angel was sick. He's already falling in love with her. He can't do anything except reading the bible softly for frightened Jamie, squeezing her hand. He waited for the miracle, but it didn't come. He didn't know what he was supposed to do anymore. He proposed to her and Jamie said "yes"to his breathless question and they both began to cry together. 40 years later, Landon remembers it was the most wonderful moment of his life. He still loves her and he has never removed his ring. And he knows what happened around him was the miracles.

Love-I remembered my first love when Iclosed the cover of this book. It was not perfect, but it was pure and everlasting. Every moment I had with her will never be forgotten because it was my "first." I think this novel has power that makes people remember the beautiful memories. I also ask myself about what love means and what should I do for making a beautiful relationship with my lover.

"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It never takes offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes."This is the passage Jamie picked out from the book of Corinthians in the Bible. Ialso believe this passage means a lot. I hope you hold beautiful memories to remember forever in this winter. I thank reporter Myung-hee Im for giving me a chance to write my impression of the book.
